This term QAHS hosted their  annual inter house Battle of the Bands competition. Each house performed two songs; one of which was The Final Countdown by Europe and the other was a house specific song. Students collaborated and transcribed each song in their own unique way and utilised the variety of instrumentalists they had at their disposal effectively. No two houses sounded the same and the amount of talent that was on display was phenomenal to behold. This was the best inter-house Battle of the Bands, the performances were outstanding, and there was so much support and cheering from the crowd throughout all performances. We even had mosh pits this year!

Each student worked tirelessly to ensure that their house stood out from the others. The crowd consisted of staff and students who cried, cheered and screamed throughout the event in support of all students involved. The overall winner was Aqua who developed a unique composition of the set piece and "Party in the USA" by Miley Cirus. The guest judges thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and commented on how excited they were to be a part of the event. There was never a dull moment during the event as students, teachers and the guest judges performed solo and collaborative pieces during the change-over of bands.

The feedback from those who witnessed the event has been very positive and the supportive nature of the school was prominent in the way students felt comfortable performing in front of their peers and teachers. The Annual Battle of the Bands will be held again in 2023. Well done students!
