At the end of last term, we had two terrific sporting events on campus. Please see the results below.

Interhouse Basketball Competition

Congratulations to IGNIS house for taking out the Interhouse Basketball, with a hotly contested Grand Final.

1st Ignis House
2nd Aqua House
3rd Terra House
4th Ventus House

Congratulations also to team STUDENTS who took out the Term 3 staff vs students futsal match. After a very even first half with a 4 - 4 score line at half-time, the students gained the momentum in the second half with a final score of 6 - 4. Thank you to all players and spectators for creating an entertaining and fun-filled finish to Term 3! Students, you are still in with a chance to win the annual staff vs students shield, with staff leading 2 - 1 in the 2023 competition.

Representative School Sport update

Triathlon
The representative school sport calendar is drawing to a close for 2023, though there are a number of trials to be held in Term 4.

The All-Schools Triathlon event, to be held in Kawana on the Sunday 29 October, will again be the nominated event for selection of the 2024 South Coast School Sport Triathlon team. Entries close on Wednesday18 October at 9am.

Cross Country
Registrations for the inaugural National All Schools Cross Country Challenge to be held in Bendigo, Victoria on 17 May 2024 are now open. If you wish to enter, please visit the Schools in Action website. Competition is open to any secondary school registered with their Education Department in their State or Territory for students in Years 7 to Year 12. Races will be held for both athletes and para-athletes. Schools may enter from four to six students in each age group / gender to create a school team or enter an individual student. Results for team competition will be based on the positions of the first four students in each team.

Lastly, I have some exciting news to share with our community. Mrs Jade Psychoulas and Mr Wade Chalker have been appointed as the new Sports Coordinators, commencing in Term 4. I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead sport at QAHS for the past few years and thank you for embracing the many opportunities available at QAHS to engage in sport. We cannot wait for the new ideas, opportunities and energy that the new Sport Coordinators will bring to our QAHS community!
