Congratulations and farewell to the Class of 2023 who received their graduation certificates at their Valedictory Ceremony held on campus on Monday 13 November. As their final event at QAHS the Class of 2023 were out to celebrate the momentous occasion, donning their gowns with pride!
QAHS was so grateful to welcome families and friends to the event and invite them inside to have professional portraits captured. Families enjoyed the opportunity to connect with each other and share cherished memories of the journey the graduates have been on. The joy and pride in the room was palpable as everyone prepared for the ceremony to begin.
The graduates stole the show as they entered in their academic gown and stole to take their seats. The excitement grew as speeches commenced with the Valedictorian Samuel Brown eloquently putting into words the sentiment of the cohort. Each graduate walked the stage and received their certificate from Principal Mrs Vanessa Rebgetz and proudly became the first state school Year 12 cohort to graduate in Queensland, as well as the largest cohort to ever graduate from QAHS.
The community was entertained by some incredible live music from Lucinda Murray, Lelarni Fletcher and Charlee Cowey, then moving post ceremony to relax together with an afternoon tea. The pride and for some, relief, at reaching the end of their formal schooling, IB Diploma and time at QAHS was clear as families enjoyed a wonderful celebration of a unique group of amazing humans.
QAHS wishes all graduates well in the next steps of their journeys and can't wait to hear what each of the graduating class achieves.
