A huge congratulations to our amazing QAHS Surf Life Saving group who are now officially Surf Life Savers!! 23 QAHS students and staff received a new SLS qualification during the holiday program in cooperation with Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club - simply incredible! 
The Assessors were highly impressed with their tenacity; highlighting impressive skills in spinal board rescues, patient care and CPR. The surf conditions were very challenging, and everyone was fearless in the water - completing the run-swim-run, tube and board rescues. Outstanding!
Surf Life Saving opens a world of opportunity for students; whether that be patrolling on the beach, helping the young 'nippers', competing, fitness, performing First-aid or for self-development and building confidence in the water.
I would like to take the opportunity on behalf of the QAHS community to thank our wonderful instructor, club administrators, and supporters from home. A huge thank you to the Mermaid Beach SLSC for making us feel so welcome and supported! To our supporters from home including parents, guardians, and families - thank you for your continual support, time, and flexibility throughout the program. What a team effort!
