Saturday 18 March saw our Brilliant Futures Year 8 students participate in the Wind Turbine Investigation Workshop, run by Toohey Forrest Environmental Education Centre principal, Mr Darren Sheppard. Working in small groups of 3-4, students were supported through the activity with guided investigations which lead them to question problems, predict outcomes, collect data and draw conclusions.
The activity heated up as groups started to compete for who could maximise power out-put, based on their chosen variables. The workshop enables students to explore the concepts of fair testing, variables, and renewable energy. Thank you very much to Mr Sheppard for delivering the workshop.
